[At the Photographer’s ]

In 1914, Anna with her sister Bracha had a photograph taken at the photographer’s shop of S. L. Rozowski. It was located at 37 Ogrodowa Street. The address contained information that the owner invited the clients to the premises protiv (opposite) the Orthodox Church. The building is now located at 41 Henryk Sienkiewicz Street.

The owner of the studio scored for his professional success on two occasions: by getting in 1911, a gold medal at the exhibition in Rostov on the Don River, and recognition by the Russian Photographic Society at a photographic competition organized in 1902 in Moscow.  He recommended his services to prospective clients particularly as a portraitist. He informed them that he preserved a negative of the film in order to make prints in the future. At the same time, not far away, under the number 29, Adolf Ganiewski (Gancwol) who was the most famous photographer in Siedlce, also took pictures. The building is now located at 33 Sienkiewicz Street.

We are approaching the Garrison Church where we will stay for a short while.
